Our Athletes run 100km per hour! 28/05/2010 - TEN 'Incom Athletes' pounded the streets of Manchester in the name of charity last weekend, completing the Bupa Great Manchester 10km Run to raise money for SANDS, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity. Incom Business Systems has secured a 'running' total of over £2,500, and is committed to fundraising for SANDS throughout 2010.

The team of ten, made up entirely of company personnel, and headed up by Joint Managing Directors - David Hughes and Jason Kilvert, completed a combined distance of 100km in an average time of 1 hour per runner. David Hughes comments, "We have a very strong team ethic within the company, and this was borne out by the amount of staff who wanted to be involved in this challenge for what is a very worthy cause. It was a pleasure to witness the backing and encouragement given, not only by those taking part to each other, but also from our support team to all the runners. The commitment shown by all our staff made me incredibly proud. We would like to thank all our sponsors for their pledges, particularly Trust Distribution for their generosity."

SANDS provide support for anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or soon after birth. The charity aims to improve professional care for bereaved families and promote research and improvements in practice which could save more babies' lives. For more information about the charity and their efforts, please visit SANDS website.

Joint MDs David Hughes and Jason Kilvert flew 25 staff and partners to Paris for an all expenses paid weekend. "We wanted to do something special to celebrate the landmark of 20 years and to reward our hard-working team," commented David Hughes. The party enjoyed fantastic views of the city from the top of the Eiffel Tower, tucked into an a la carte lunch on a cruise along the Seine, and experienced the amazing spectacle of the Brasil Tropicale caberet.

Staff described the complimentary trip as 'overwhelming' and 'brilliant' and said that they felt they were being rewarded for their commitment to the company. Engineering Manager, Paul Lowe said, "I felt that the weekend brought an already close team even closer."

The company prides itself on having a low turnover of personnel and, during the Paris trip, staff were set a challenge to calculate the total number of years service for all current staff. Engineer, Shane White, and Sales Manager, Grant Counsell, won cash prizes for guessing closest to the actual figure of 177 years. David Hughes said, "During the period we have been in business, the developments in technology and equipment have been vast and we have adapted to market changes and adopted new technologies along the way. Being at the leading edge of the industry after twenty years in business is a massive achievement in itself; to have brought so many loyal colleagues along this fantastic journey is the icing on the cake."

Incom recently received the attached letter from one of our customers, Linden Hall Surgery in Shropshire. The customer had a dated NEC telephone system installed and wanted to improve the service that they offered to their patients.

By installing a "state of the art" NEC SV 8100, they now offer their patients the ability to dial direct to the person they wish to communicate with. As part of the improvements to the service, patients can now dial in 24/7 and leave their details for repeat prescriptions, these are then processed during quiter times during the day.

"Customer satisfaction is at the very core of what our business is all about" says David Hughes MD at Incom Business Systems, "once we have secured a customer, it is our intention to retain their business forever and the only way you can achieve that is by offering exceptional levels of service."
