Unified messaging integrates your telephone system voicemail with Microsoft Outlook® or Lotus Notes® to list all voice, email and fax messages in a single "Inbox". As the user has one "message centre" on the desktop computer, messages can be accessed more easily and dealt with more efficiently via a common set of management tools. All three message types can be prioritised, organised into folders and replied to or forwarded as emails. Furthermore, the visual interface to your voice mailbox gives the ability to play and record messages over the telephone or over sound-equipped PCs. When a user is away from the office they can access their e-mail messages via the telephone. Users may choose to listen to their e-mails using text-to-speech conversion, or forward a message to another email address, or to the nearest fax machine. You can also receive notification of messages that have arrived while you are out of the office e.g.. have notification of all urgent messages forwarded to your mobile phone, so that you can take care of time sensitive matters right away.
