Incom engineers enjoyed some 'karting chaos' at Daytona Manchester, this week! The fast-paced fun followed the engineers' meeting at Head Office, when our 'techies' took to the track in racing karts to compete against each other in The Sprint!
Having been given the run down on the rules and an overview of the racing karts dynamics, it was off to the pit lane to don their helmets. The Incom team had to compete against the clock to qualify for their start positions then complete as many laps as possible in the 20 minute race. At the chequered flag, having reached 'electrifying' speeds, our winner was electrician and Cat 5/6 technician, Jonny Scott! In 2nd place, flying the flag for the IT team, was IT manager, Andy Pollitt; while in a highly respectable 3rd place was telecoms engineer, Ian Dimelow.
The event was organised by engineering manager, Paul Lowe, who commented, "With many of our technical team working remotely across the UK, the engineers' meetings are a time when we get everyone together to discuss current projects, technology and procedures, and to address any issues. We always try to follow these meetings with a little relaxation time for the team - or, in this case, some adrenaline fuelled mayhem!"
